Hi, I’m Nico aka. Mikosch, an IT System Engineer with a strong focus on Cyber Security in security-critical and highly regulated environments. My day-to-day work is about building and operating systems that are not only stable, but also secure, maintainable, and well documented. I care a lot about clean standards, reliable operations, and practical security that holds up in real life, not just on paper.
I’m especially passionate about Linux. I enjoy digging into how things work under the hood, hardening systems properly, and automating everything that should not be done manually twice. Over time, Linux has become my preferred playground for learning, testing, and building solid infrastructure, from small scripts to complete environments.
Outside of work, my main interests are Linux, homelabbing (with Proxmox as my core platform), network infrastructure, open source, and 3D printing. I like designing setups that are structured, reproducible, and easy to extend, whether it’s improving network segmentation, refining a virtualization stack, or building tooling that makes operations smoother.
